Laser Hair Removal Q&A

Wondering if it’s for you? Laser Hair Removal is a way to reduce over 80% of your hair when treatments done on time and regularly for up to 10 sessions.

What exactly is it and how does it work? Our laser has two wavelengths which help to serve both light and darker skin tones. It is essentially a laser that goes through a special cooling crystal and targets a portion of the hair that inhibits is growth.

Does it work forever? With over 80 % hair reduction when done correctly and sufficiently it should be enough to notice an incredible difference, touch ups may be necessary, but hair is drastically reduced.

How often do I need to do it?Every 4-6 wks depending in skin type and where you are in your treatment plan

Does it hurt? Definitely not as much as waxing, and although it is likely to be over 90% painless, you may occasionally experience sensation during treatment. The crystal cooling mechanism does a very good job at confusing the pain receptors.

Is there smoke? Essentially no, all of the hair should be removed prior to the treatment so burning hair is not an often occurrence.

What should I expect after the treatment? Sometime’s nothing, sometimes there may be some perifollicular edema which feels essentially like sunburn but should go away with TLC and within 12 hours of treatment.

What other treatment modalities are available? There is also obviously waxing, shaving and electrolysis.

How does this compare to electrolysis? This is essentially painless.

Am I a candidate? LHR is offered for patients with mostly brownish , black hair types. It is less effective in redheads and even less so in blonde hair types.

I have PCOS. Will this help me? Yes, it will. However because of hormone fluctuations, more treatments or touch ups may be necessary.
